8 Tips for Enterprise SEO Agencies
Monday, May 11, 2015
However, when it comes to the SEO campaigns for larger and complex organizations, things can get a bit more tricky.
As Jolina Pettice notes on the TopRank Blog, larger companies need to maintain their reputation, for starters. And, there’s also dealing with “multiple stakeholders, layers of approval and strict messaging guidelines.” Of course, the size of company isn’t just relevant to enterprise SEO. It’s also managing a hefty website and a set an integrated tools to get the campaign up and running.
In other words, as SERPs defines it, enterprise SEO is “optimizing a large website (or a number of them) while dealing with all typical hurdles of a corporate environment– red tape, diplomacy and internal politics at the same time.” Sound challenging?
If you’re an agency dealing with enterprise SEO, keep the following eight vital tips in mind.
1. Have One Person In Charge
Nick Stamoulis, founder or Brick Marketing, reminds us that “large enterprises sometimes have multiple chains of commands and mountains of red tape that make implementing a cohesive SEO campaign very difficult.” Because of this, you may want to have one individual manage your enterprise SEO. Here are three of Nick’s management tips.
Everyone needs to know, not everyone deserves a say. Your webmaster, for example, should be aware of changes to your website, but they don’t have to add their two cents.
There needs to be one person who can pull the trigger. You’re dealing with multiple departments, which means several different department heads. To keep things moving along though, you should have one person who has the power to make decisions.
What’s good for the company is good for each department. Make sure that each department realizes they are an important part of the company’s SEO campaign.
2. Push For Video Content
It’s no secret that quality content helps with search rankings and establishes a brand as an authoritative figure. If you want to stay ahead of the competition then you should consider generating more video content.
Not only can videos boost search engine results for a brand, they can have major effects on sales. It’s been found “that viewers are anywhere from 64-85% more likely to buy after watching a product video.” Other research from housewares e-retailer Stacks and Stacks discovered “a consumer who views a product video is up to 144% more likely to add that product to her cart than a consumer who watches no video.”
To get the most out of your video content, KISSmetrics suggests you:
- Hire a local, professional company film the video.
- Show the product from multiple angles.
- Find ways to get your brand evangelists involved the making or marketing of the video.
- Segment the videos to different geographic location and demographics.

The Biggest SEO Trends of 2015
Thursday, April 2, 2015
- Content is (still) king. Yes, valuable and relevant content is here to stay, as search engine algorithms continue to focus on whether or not the content has relevance to the keywords. Do away with keyword saturation and concentrate on producing high-quality content that makes good use of relevant keywords.
- Social signals elevate rankings. The more content is shared, the higher up the search engine rankings it will be. Social media management will go hand in hand with SEO and it will be beneficial for you to expand your knowledge and skills in both.
- Mobile experience will become more important. Another significant ranking factor in search engine algorithms is the mobile user experience. In 2014, mobile internet use exceeded desktop use. It is estimated that in 2015 there will be as many as 50 billion local searches using smartphones and other mobile devices—so you better start making sure your website is mobile-friendly!
- Conversations, not just keywords. Along with content, search engines are now using intent, context, and meaning in a search query—a big change from simply matching up keywords. Long-tail or conversational keyword queries and phrases are more likely to be more relevant than one and two-word key phrases. The conversion rates of long-tails are also higher because of the increased specificity. Taking advantage of long-tail search traffic is definitely the next big trend in SEO, so it would be a good idea to pour your efforts towards understanding what users are looking for and engaging them in conversation.

13 common interview questions:
1. What do you know about Google’s algorithm updates?
Answer: In order to make the deserving websites with better content rank higher than others in the search results, Google is constantly trying to work on their algorithm. Google introduced Google Top Heavy Update and Google Penguin Update in 2012, Google Hummingbird in 2013 and Google Pigeon Update in 2014. All these updates have helped Google in improving its algorithms and that in turn have helped many websites to get their deserving place in search results.
2. What is a Google “Penalty”?
Answer: The negative impact on a website's search rankings based on updates to Google's search algorithms or manual review is called a Google Penalty. It can be an unfortunate by-product of an algorithm update or an intentional penalization for various black-hat SEO techniques. Engaging into practices which go against webmaster guideline can get you a penalty.

How Google and Twitter are Taking Social Media Marketing to the Next Level
Monday, March 23, 2015
That is all changing now. The partnership between Google and Twitter, allows Google to access Twitters data, making Tweets easily searchable through Google’s search results. The benefits are unlimited but here are a few that are especially important to social media marketing (and inbound marketing!) today:
Google and Twitter Real Time Search
Before the partnership, Google was able to search Twitter results, but there was a delay between when it was posted and when it is visible on Google. Within the next few months, real time results will be available. This means that moments after you post it, it can be searched for and found on Google.
With this development, businesses, especially retailers, will be able to see real time inbound marketing benefits on Twitter. When a brand promotes a product or tweets a limited time offer or new product, consumers won’t need to be following the company to see the update as they will be easily viewable on Google’s search results page.
