Blogs and news sources are plentiful and if you want to progress in the search space you have to stay up to date with everything that is going on around you and that requires reading blogs and other news sources that report on changes and trends in the search space.
• Willingness To Try: If you really want to learn you will almost have to have a test site where you can really experiment different SEO efforts. Sometimes having a hobby website that you can really push the search engine marketing boundaries (without going in the black of course) will give you some really valuable insight and experience through a hands on approach. You can read and learn all you want but until you put your hands on something concrete and experience the numbers going up you simply will not understand how great it feels to make a positive impact on a website.
• Thinking Outside The Box: Internet marketing cookie cutter approaches simply won’t cut it in today’s online space. You really need to be able to put your thinking cap on and really think outside of the box if you want to pull in those targeted web visitors all while establishing a brand for yourself in the search space.

Even if you don’t want to be a “superstar” and just understand it than you still have to follow these best practices above because in today’s environment you have to be able to stand out and with that requires some very important education and thinking.
